Bernice - I don't know what meds you're taking for hypothyroidism, but I have been on Levoxyl plus a smidgen of Cytomel (T3) and it's done nothing to help me lose weight. I just started last week to see an MD who prescribes Armour Thyroid (natural porcine thyroid hormone) and he ran tests on me, including free T3 and free T4 which are supposed to be a better indicator of your true status than TSH or total T4. I haven't started the Armour yet, but have heard and read that lots of people do much much better on it than synthetic meds. If you go to Armour's website, you'll find they provide a list of doctors in your area who prescribe it. Perhaps it's time for a change? Good luck, Sharon

: : I am 58 yrs old and have had hypothyroidism for 4 years. All total I have gained from 156 pounds to, at present, 226 pounds. My blood test as of 2/14/03 was T4 thyroxine is 8.0, T3 uptake is 33.5, and TSH serum is .63. I take 6 tablets of 100mg a week and 1 tablet of 88mg a week.n I am tired and listless and have been on the Jenny ?Craig diet for 5 weeks and have GA
: : INED on the diet. I am back to a diet I tried years ago, the Metabolic Research diet - I walk 5.6 miles to 6.8 miles wa day and ride my bike at least for 1 hour a night. I ride my two wheel bike on Sundays for about 45 minutes. My stomach looks like I am 9 months pregnant - so I have been doing crunches etc. Has anyone successfully lost weight? HOW DID YOU DO IT? I would appreciate someone to talkn with concerning this problem. Next week I am going to start taking "Virgin coconut oil" which is supposed to assist hypothyroidism. Hope someone can tell me something. Thanks for listening.

: Hello,
: My Name Is Bernice I Was Just Wondering if the Coconut Oil Has Helped Any.
: Thanks
